The Challenge
As the “silver tsunami” approached — the demographic shift of baby boomers entering retirement age — the healthcare nonprofit recognized the urgent need to restructure the organization to prepare for a surge in demand for their senior living communities.
This complete leadership overhaul required targeted recruitment for the newly established Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and cascaded to Vice Presidents and Directors, marking a transformative phase in the organization’s history.
However, the path to restructuring was strewn with unique challenges:
- Positions such as the Chief Optimization Officer required a blend of skills across HR, technology and legal, making the search highly specific and complex.
- The challenge of recruiting a Chief Technology Innovation Officer who would work onsite highlighted the need for leaders who could commit to being physically present, a shift from the previous remote-working model.
