The Recruitment Challenge
More recently, Make-A-Wish South Florida began working with Duffy Group. They were struggling to find quality candidates for their Vice President of Mission Resources role, a position responsible for all development and fundraising activities for the chapter.
Similarly, Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island encountered difficulties in recruiting a suitable candidate for the Regional Director position. Both chapters were unable to find quality candidates through online postings.
The Strategy
Duffy Group tailored its approach to suit the specific needs of each Make-A-Wish chapter, targeting nonprofits and higher education institutions within their respective regions, and specifically identifying senior development staff. For both Make-A-Wish chapters, Duffy Group recruiters underscored the CEO’s sterling reputation and singled out candidates with a passion for the organization’s mission.

Duffy Group presented their first candidate for the Vice President of Mission Resources role at Make-A-Wish South Florida within 10 business days. Four candidates were submitted and interviewed by the client. An outstanding candidate was hired and onboarded in less time than originally anticipated.
Similarly, for Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, Duffy Group presented their first candidate for the Regional Director position within 10 business days. Of the four candidates identified for this position, three were interviewed. The position was successfully filled within forty-five days, meeting the client’s goal of including the new hire at the annual gala.
